Banger

A banger refers to the small bucket, dish, or nail that fits inside the joint or female end of a dab rig water pipe to hold cannabis extract concentrate for vaporizing. Bangers are commonly made from heat-resistant materials including quartz, ceramic, glass or titanium and come in a range of sizes to fit the specific joint size of any individual dab rig. In use, the banger gets preheated to the ideal dabbing temperature, usually between 400°F and 600°F depending on personal preference and the properties of the material being dabbed. Dabbers often rely on handheld torches to carefully heat their bangers before dropping in a small dab of concentrate. However, electronic nails (e-nails) allow users to digitally regulate banger temperature to achieve more precise, consistent heating. Once adequately heated, a small dose of extract is applied directly into the banger dish and the rig is capped with a directional carb cap that helps capture the terpene-rich vapors during inhalation.
